Lishui International Photography Festival

I am pleased to report that I am one of thirty North American photographers who have been invited to exhibit work at the Lishui International Photography Festival. The festival takes place in Lishui, China from November 28 - December 3, 2009. I will be showing prints from my Streets of Paris series. Twenty North American gallerists, curators and publishers have also been invited to attend the festival. Crista Dix of the Wall Space Gallery in Seattle has posted information on her Flat File blog describing the work of several photographers showing work at the festival.

On The Verge

University of Washington Iron Gallery presents 14 newly established Washington artists in On the Verge, an exhibition of painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, basketry, fibers and more. This exhibition came out of the 2008 EDGE Program, a competitive juried professional development training that targets artists on the verge of a career breakthrough. Since participating in the EDGE program, these 14 artists have won competitions, received significant grants, been invited to exhibit work internationally, landed long term residencies abroad, been accepted into prestigious galleries and had their work written up in national publications.

Included in the exhibition are three prints from my vertical diptych series One Thin Line which contrasts images captured in Paris and Latin America.

Artist Trust offers grants for individual art projects and lifetime achievement, a database of resources for artists, workshops, events and the EDGE Program, a competitive juried 50-hour professional develop training.
