B&W Magazine Merit Award

I'm honored that three images from my Sidewalks of New York series have been selected as Merit Award winners and have been published in the B&W Magazine 2011 Portfolio Contest Winners Special Issue #84, August 2011.  B&W Magazine, one of the most important publications for fine art photographers and collectors, is published monthly in California and is distributed in over 50 countries. Issue #84 will be on newsstands in June 2011.

Ernesto Bazan Workshop - Easter in Sicily

I recently returned from an excellent 10-day Ernesto Bazan Workshop – Easter in Sicily. The eleven participants in the workshop came from Italy, Germany, Poland, Turkey, the Netherlands and the USA. Ernesto's colleague Juan De la Cruz and assistant Carlo Cislaghi also added to the workshop. 

The workshop was based in Marsala and we photographed in Palermo, Marsala and Trapani. The daily editing and critiquing of everyone's images, with input from all, was one of my favorite aspects of the workshop. The camaraderie and friendship in our group grew every day and was amplified by the wonderful food, wine and weather in Sicily.  We also got a chance to see a copy of Ernesto's newest book Al Campo.  This was my third workshop with Ernesto and I look forward to more in the future. 

After the workshop, I spent a week in Naples and a week in Rome where I continued to photograph. I plan to have images from my trip to Italy on my website soon.

Gospel of Art

I have three prints from my Guatemala series in the C Art Gallery Gospel of Art Exhibition. The show runs from May 1 through May 29, 2011 with an opening reception on May 8 from 3:00-5:00 pm. The C Art Gallery is located at 855 Hiawatha Place South, Seattle, WA.
