Newspace Members' Showcase

I'm delighted that my photo Girl at the Abastos Market, Oaxaca will be on display at the fourth annual Newspace Members' Showcase in Portland from October 5 to October 28.  There will be an opening reception and 10 year anniversary celebration on October 5 from 6-9 pm. The Newspace Center for Photography is located at 1632 SE 10th Ave, Portland, OR.

Urban Landscapes at The Center for Fine Art Photography

I'm pleased that my photo Piazza Cavour from my series Avoid Naples! was selected for the Center for Fine Art Photography Urban Landscapes exhibition by juror Julia Dolan, curator of photography at the Portland Art Museum. The exhibition includes work by fifty-three artists for six countries. Urban Landscapes may be viewed on the Center's online gallery and will be on display in the physical gallery from November 20, 2012 through January 5, 2013. There will be an opening reception on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00 - 9:00pm in the gallery at 400 North College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO.

The Human Condition Exhibition at Mpls Photo Center

I’m delighted that two of my prints will be on display at the Mpls Photo Center exhibition The Human Condition: A Survey of Humanity. My photo Dante Monument from my series Avoid Naples! was awarded honorable mention, and my image Rue Tronchet from my series Parisian Gestures is also included in the show. The exhibition was juried by Annie Griffiths-Belt, a National Geographic photographer deeply committed to women’s issues. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Ripple Effect Images, a not-for-profit organization documenting programs to help poor women deal with the effects of climate change. 
  
The exhibition includes the work of 46 artists and a listing of their images is on the web. There will be an opening reception on November 10 from 7-10 pm and the exhibition will run through January 4, 2013 at the Mpls Photo Center, 2400 North Second Street, Minneapolis, MN. A Blurb book for the exhibition will also be available.

Poetry at the Group f/5.6 Members' Show

I'm pleased to have two prints from my Metro Moments series in the Group f/5.6 Members' Show at the Clarridge Gallery. The exhibition runs through September 29, 2012. The show features 16 prints by six Group f/5.6 photographers who have paired their prints with passages of poetry that inspired or complement the images. The other artists are Jan Bogle, DeAnna Foran, Ron Hammond, Doug Rosenoff and Diane Stefanich.

The Clarridge Gallery is located in the office/bookstore of the Eastshore Unitarian Church, 12700 SE 32nd Street, Bellevue, WA. Gallery hours are weekdays 9am to 5pm.  Call 425 641 3146 for weekend hours.

Lenscratch 2012 Hometown Exhibition

Aline Smithson has published the Lenscratch 2012 Hometown Exhibition in her blog.  This wonderful collection of over 150 images provides a diverse interpretation this subject by photographers from around the world. I'm pleased that my photo Sevenscore Years Later, Pioneer Square, Seattle is included in the exhibition.
